Talking of Belmont Park, the decision by Peter Fernie to persist with racing in the city has paid off with Black George winning the $40,000 Perth Racing Members Handicap for top apprentice Campbell McCallum. The nuggety son of Blackfriars was given the gun run by McCallum from his inside barrier and judging by the ease of his victory, there would be another city win in store at least for the gelding this campaign. |
