At It Again by The Gurkha

 2/06/2010

Just when you thought it was safe to go back a favourite-Gary Bowen arrived with yet another blow out result for the popular local stable.

Bowen saddled his first winner for the season last week when Bright Reason returned punters a bonanza, winning at $24.50 on the TAB.

This week Bowen went one better and scored with Flamin’Rain in the Goldfields Reality Maiden at the massive TAB odds of $66.

Again ridden by Misty Bazeley, the Bowen trained Flamin’ Rain finished too powerfully along the rails to score impressively from Kalarena with First Lot back in the third place.

“He has always been a nice horse but he is such a bad ride.” Bowen told The Gurkha “I must pay a lot of credit to my track work rider Sarah Hadden who has sorted him out on the track.”

“She never misses a morning and is a wonderful rider.”

“Also Misty Bazeley has turned her form around with a couple of winning rides. Her confidence has come back and she will be a rider to follow in the coming weeks.”

“I have seven horses in work at the moment with Bright Reason ready to start again this Sunday. Frank Fiore paid $40,000 for him and didn’t want to go on with him and I think he will make the grade.”

“Another horse in the stable that goes alright is Menuhin and Flamin’ Rain should go on with it now he has won his maiden.”

“We retired the old fellow Chenille Prince as he lost his desire to be a racehorse and has gone to a good home.”
