Win Of The Day by The Gurkha

 16/06/2010

The performance by Danterina to lead all of the way and win the Cartelec Handicap was without doubt the win of the day.

Kevin Bohorun bounced the daughter of Dante’s Fury straight to the top from her wide barrier (10) and then didn’t dawdle throughout the event, recoding the slick time of 1.12.02, which was .59 seconds faster then Ain’t No Saint the winner of the previous race.

The three year old carried more weight then his older rival in race four and started from a wider barrier.

Danterina was formerly trained by Todd Harvey, Hanna Dickson and Lindsey Smith before the owner-breeder Mrs E Ng sold the filly to Andrew Inglis.

In three Kalgoorlie starts, Danterina has won twice and finished second to the well preformed Comes Round.

Danterina is by Dante’s Fury out of the Bletchley Park mare Mimosa Park, making her a half sister to Bellman(four wins) and Lillan Min (3 wins).
