Training Honours Shared by The Gurkha

 22/06/2010

The training honours were shared on Sunday by Aaron Bazeley and Peter Fernie, both with doubles for the day.

But the honours must go to Bazeley who also celebrated two winners and a runner-up at the Leinster meeting on Saturday.

Aaroon and his wife Misty combined with Teaken and Tell Me Why at Leinster on Saturday with the pair enjoying success through Stormystory on Sunday.

Kyra Yuill rode the impressive Masters Seal to win the Relph Electrical Handicap (1400 metres).

“It has been a busy weekend for the stable but to come away with four winners from seven starters is very satisfying.” Aaron Bazeley told the Gurkha

“Stormystory has been a horse I have always had plenty of time for. The owner is Len Morton’s sister Trish who unfortunately was taken to Perth last Wednesday with chest pains so this win was a good tonic for her and husband Ian.”

“The second horse Toronto was well backed and there are some big wraps on him and the way the pair streeted the opposition, looks good for the future.”

“Masters Seal is such a big strong one paced horse that he may well get over some ground. He won very impressively and can progress to a mile race in a fortnight.”

Bazeley may only have three runners in this Sunday but last start winners Midnight Train and Stormystory look ready to race well again.

“Midnight Train is flying and there looks to be a nice class one for Stormystory who has pulled up a treat since the win.”

“Late Change is another of my runners who put in a big performance last start and should be in the finish on Sunday.”

Team Bazeley member Misty has also been in hot form of late, riding eight winners from her past 40 rides at an average of 20%.

“I am her harshest critic but she has never ridden better and I would struggle to name a horse that she hasn’t given every chance too, lately.” Aaron commented about his jockey wife Misty.
