It was a quiet day at the office, with Susannah Hoppman training a double, eking back the deficit to seven wins in the Office National Trainer of the Year Award. Hoppman who trained the smart Sword Master and Caribbean Cruise to victory now has 18 wins for the season, with Fernie on 25 and the third placed Paul Smythe on 12. Russel Hanson (17) increased his lead in the Jockey of the Year by one win from Damian Lane (14) and Kyra Yuill (10). Emily Metzke continues to poll well in the Elders Real estate and Westland Motors Strapper f the Year with 14 wins from Kevin Lightfoot and Jake Allen on 7. The Horse of the Year Award again tightened up with Two Strong Hearts scoring two points to trail the leader Sonny Biscay (21) by two points with Yes We Can (17) and Major Canny (16) next. |
