The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club 2012 Race Round planning is well and truly underway and already it is looking like being a successful Round. As Chairman, I invite everyone to start planning to attend the 2012 Race Round. This will be the 116th Race Round and from year one in 1896 this iconic event has been providing racing enthusiasts and the Goldfields community at large an opportunity to experience excitement and entertainment at the historic Kalgoorlie Boulder Race Course.

From times past to recent years The Round has produced something extraordinary in the way of exceptional equine performance, fantastic entertainment or personal memories and I would see this year's event as being no different in that respect. It has proven to be a time of the year when just being here is well worth it.

2012 should be one of the strongest seasons on record for the KBRC. With all time high stake moneys and bonuses of over $1 million dollars on offer over the Round, I am sure the Racing and Entertainment will be as exciting and spectacular as previous years.

My sincere thanks must go to all our loyal sponsors, supporters and staff of the club, both over the round and throughout the year. Their support is paramount in keeping the club and the industry throughout the Goldfields region healthy. Local participation in this industry has, and always will be, essential in ensuring we are able to contribute back into the local economy and community by the staging of this wonderful event and season.

Finally, start planning to be in Kalgoorlie Boulder in September 2012 to enjoy the hospitality, excitement and colour of the Greatest Show on Turf and all that the Goldfields region has to offer throughout the Round 2012.
